VAC Aircraft Collections

VAC Flying Collection

A key part of VAC's mission is preserving warbirds in their native element - the sky. Four of our aircraft routinely fly and are maintained by our dedicated team of volunteers. These aircraft fly at least once a month (subject to weather and maintenance) and can be seen at airshows across the southeast. Nothing beats the sound, sights and smells of seeing these glorious aircraft come to life and take to the sky. Come experience it for yourself!

C-47 Tico Belle

A storied veteran of D-Day, Market Garden, The Battle of the Bulge, Operation Varsity and the Berlin Airlift, our C-47 "Tico Belle" is the flagship and centerpiece of the flying collection at VAC.

A-4 Skyhawk

F-86 Sabre

The classic 1950's fighter, the F-86 Sabre changed the course of the air war in Korea by turning the tide against the MiG 15. Its clean design, beautiful handling and the deadly punch packed by six .50cal Browning machine guns mark the F-86 as the West's first modern jet fighter.
